Deborah Croucher, Senior Consultant

With thirty three years experience in the banking industry, I took my first part time job as a young single parent back in 1991 as a Customer Service Advisor with Bradford and Bingley.

In the following nine years I completed several finance industry qualifications including Financial Planning (to Pensions level) and Cmap with the Chartered Insurance Institute. In 2008, Bradford and Bingley integrated into Santander and from 2009, I took a twelve months secondment in Triton Square within the Mortgage Division working on a pilot scheme.

In January 2010 I rejoined the branch network as a Branch Manager in north London and became a local representative for Advance where I regularly attended Branch network meetings. Following the closure of my branch in 2011, I was invited by Linda Rolph to join her Senior team on a full time basis.

With a tenacious passion I worked hard representing members from all areas of the bank with complex case work such as Grievance, Disciplinary and Performance Management process.

Many years prior to this I had acquired a Diploma in Professional Counselling. I then broadened my development by completing a Certificate in Mediation with ACAS. These qualifications have been invaluable when supporting our members during complex and stressful moments.

Over the past several years I have been fully engaged in working with the bank on policy changes, simplifying process and procedures to support improvements. I have attended several job security consultations, especially those regarding major transformation of business strategy and branch structure, where I have had the privilege to voice the concerns of you, our members.

My philosophy in life has always been is to treat others as I would like to be treated myself, and to this day I find this is what makes the difference when challenged with difficult circumstances. My objective is to ensure people are treated with dignity in a fair and personal way using calmness and diplomacy without compromise.

As a Mum and Grandmother of two beautiful teenage granddaughters I fully understand the demands of family life and particularly the challenges when juggling work and family life. In my limited spare time I remain “Nanna’s Taxi!”.

I will be hosting a webinar on 17/06/24 where you have the opportunity to discuss my vision for Advance’s future and how I plan to achieve it. Register below to be sent the link to join.
